Q: TCP Transport Ports

 In 200-301 V2 Ch01: TCP/IP Transport, 200-301 V2 Part 1: IP ACLs, CCENT-OLD, Q&A

Most CCNA candidates focus on the topics that require deeper learning, topics that you need to configure, verify, and troubleshoot on routers and switches. At the same time, Cisco includes a small set of topics for which you need only conceptual knowledge. The TCP/IP Transport layer happens to be one of those topics and is the focus of today’s question.

The Question

The PC on the left of the figure opens URL https://www.example.com, which creates a TCP connection with the web server on the right. Which of the answers lists correct facts about the 3rd TCP segment in the TCP connection establishment flow?

A) SYN flag set, but ACK not set

B) SYN flag and ACK flags set

C) ACK flag set, but SYN flag not set

D) Destination port 80

E) Destination port 443

F) Destination port > 1023

So the required answer wants the 3rd part of the 3 way handshake. So from what I remember its SYN, SYN ACK, and then ACK.

From the listed answers the correct one should be C
