Convert Masks, Drill 1

 In CCENT-OLD, IPv4 Mask Drills

It’s practice, man, practice. Are we really talking about practice? Sure. Plain and simple, just some extra practice converting from one mask format to another. But how fast can you go? And can you reach your time goal every time, for every mask? And can you cull out and reject masks that are simply incorrect? Today’s post can help.

Today’s post lists a table of 6 questions, with three columns: a column for the binary mask, one for the Dotted Decimal Notation (DDN) mask, and one for the prefix style mask. The problem statement lists only one of the types of masks. Your job: complete the table, or note that it’s illegal. Get your stopwatch ready before you click over to the next page! Also, read the below post or book for more on how to do it. Ready, steady, go!

What would be the suggested speed per exercise?

Hector,
I think 15 seconds each is a great goal for exam day. Start the clock once you have the math in front of you, like this exercise.
